Using “antisemitism” on everything and “buy politicians to parrot your talking points”, “doesn’t work anymore”- Egyptian comedian in debate with Israeli spokesperson

In an at the very least heated debate last Thursday on the “Piers Morgan Uncensored” show, which was about Israel’s war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip, very controversial claims and hectic outbursts arose, which also led to quite a lot of swearing.
The guests of the day consisted of the IDF’s former spokesperson and combat commander in Israel’s military, Jonathan Conricus, who frequently appears on the show, and his opponent, the well-known Egyptian comedian and former surgeon, Bassem Youssef.
And perhaps unsurprisingly, the debate quickly turned to politically charged issues — not least the topic of antisemitism, but also political corruption, Hamas’ acts of terror against Israeli civilians held hostage, and Israel’s attacks on Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
From the very outset, the discussion descended into hostile rhetoric, loaded language, and controversial statements.
But it was above all Bassem Youssef who stood out in the debate, and some of his statements have gained wide circulation on social media.
The comedian said that the word antisemitism “is so overused, it’s like a used condom at this point, completely stretched out, lost all its protection, and nobody wants to touch it anymore,” and that it “doesn’t work anymore,” according to Youssef, who also uttered, “Your optic nerve is antisemitic”.
He continued on by saying about his counter-debater, “Jonathan uses Hamas more like a crackhead uses excuses”.
Bassem Youssef went on to claim that, “Nobody believes” in Israel, and that “Nobody likes” them. He continued on to say, “No matter how much media covers for you. No matter how much politicians you buy to parrot your talking points. No matter how many fake influencers you hire to whitewash your face”, and then he went on to summarize his statement by saying, “Everybody can smell your bullshit”, said Youssef.
Youssef also compared America to “the most pathetic Sugar Daddy”, for its gigantic economic aid to Israel every year.
