In an interview with Swebbtv, psychiatrist Thomas Jackson claims that far too many misdiagnoses are made within psychiatry. He also questions the massive number of ADHD diagnoses being attached to patients.

According to Jackson, the main problem in psychiatry is not the medication but rather the diagnostics. If you get the wrong diagnosis, you get the wrong medication, he told Swebbtv.

Jackson believes the problem stems from the incompetence of many in the field who do not know how to make correct diagnoses.

“I have always believed that too many ADHD diagnoses are made,” says Thomas Jackson.

He also explains that in Sweden, the government has established a special institution where people can have all their incorrect diagnoses removed.

According to the psychiatrist, the solution to this problem is AI, which can take over and provide better and more accurate diagnoses.

Psychiatry, like many other sectors within medicine and healthcare, has become a business generating large sums of money. More and more people are questioning this institution and its true motives.

After all, cured patients do not generate income or careers, whereas continued illness represents a significant source of revenue for the entire industry.

One who has questioned and claimed that, for example, ADHD is a bogus diagnosis was the American child psychiatrist Leon Eisenberg.

In a 2012 article published by the German weekly Der Spiegel, Eisenberg, was quoted from a 2009 interview shortly before his death. He described ADHD as “a prime example of a fabricated disease” and said that “the genetic predisposition to ADHD is greatly exaggerated.”

Eisenberg argued that instead of immediately prescribing medication, psychiatrists should first investigate whether psychosocial factors might be causing the behavioral issues.
