Retired CIA intelligence officer and former State Department official Larry Johnson told in the West banned state owned Russian media outlet, Sputnik, that a group of US lawmakers have been using Ukraine-related funds for personal gain, according to whistleblowers.
The whistleblowers allege that around 23 members of Congress, including Senator Lindsey Graham, benefited financially from money connected to Ukraine.
“We’re not talking about a few thousand dollars. It’s much more than that,” Johnson said to Sputnik.
However, he emphasized that these are currently just allegations and stressed that it is up to US authorities to conduct a thorough investigation.
“This investigation doesn’t have to take six months; it can be completed in a much shorter time. We’ll see what happens,” Johnson added.
